Wesley Davis

Wesley Stephen Davis, age 70, of Dawson, formerly of Monahans and Lufkin, passed away Tuesday, April 3rd at Waco Baylor Hillcrest. Graveside services with military honors will be 1 P.M. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Prairie View Cemetery near Turnersville, Texas, under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Wes was born in Corsicana and raised in Monahans and Dawson. He was a 1964 graduate of Dawson High School.  He attended Navarro Junior College and Angelina College where he graduated with a technology degree. Wes worked at Lufkin Industries for 30 years retiring in 2006.   Wes married Frances Ann Hollingsworth of Dawson in April 1970 and they were married for almost 48 years. Two daughters, Lisa and LaShelle were born to this union.   Wes served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966- 1970. He was honorably discharged at the rank of SSG. He served one tour of duty in Thailand during the Vietnam War.  Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Mona Davis and a brother Jacky Davis.

Wes is survived by his wife, Ann of Dawson, daughters, Lisa Ford and children Kristen and Casey, and LaShelle Davis and children Madison and Samuel. He is also survived by his brother, Mike Davis and sister-in-law Rhonda, aunt Roma Taylor, numerous cousins including Pat Coker and Baize Taylor, brothers-in-law Clarence Hollingsworth and Burt Hollingsworth, and sister-in-law Emma Childress.
