Wanda Seawright Sept. 2, 1928 ~ April 6, 2013 Wanda Lee Wortham Seawright,age 84, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 6th in Hillcrest Hospital of Waco. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 13th, in the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would like that she be remembered through a donation used to support any sight and hearing foundation. Wanda was born on September 2, 1928 in a farm house near Aquilla, Texas in Hill County. Her parents were William Notley Wortham III and Tempest Blanche Rainbolt. She spent the majority of her childhood living on a farm next to Childress Creek in the Wortham Bend area. She attended schools in China Spring with the last two years spent at Waco High School. She graduated in 1946. She married Alvin Floyd Seawright on December 25, 1948. Wanda and Alvin spent the next thirty years raising their children throughout Texas. They lived in Hillsboro, Tyler, Houston, El Paso, Pecos, Round Rock and finally retired on the Seawright Farm in Valley Mills. She greatly enjoyed her dogs and horses. Her hobbies included gardening, playing the guitar and piano. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 53+ years, Alvin in June of 2002, a daughter, Karen Sue, and two brothers, William Notley Wortham IV, George Ray Wortham, and a grandchild, Alex King. Wanda is the mother of seven children, and is survived by six of those children; Gary F. Seawright and wife, Pattie with children Patrick and Kevin; Judy K. Miller and husband, Ron with children Melissa, Jennifer, and Ashley; Jimmy D. Seawright and wife, Gaye Lynn with children John and Emily; Charles H. Seawright and wife, Dee Ann and daughter Megan; Ricky A. Seawright and wife, Stephanie with children Nicholas, Matthew, and Megan; and Michael L. Seawright and wif, Sandra with children Angela, Brian, and Lauren. She was third among seven children and is survived by five siblings; Tempest Neal, Joyce Tempest Brickhouse, Patsy Nadine Prince, and Edgar James Wortham. She is also survived by five great grandchildren; Zach, Samantha, Victoria, Cole and Cody. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Alvin. Alvin always joked about having end zone seats, since the cemetery is adjacent to the old Valley Mills High School football field. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons: John Seawright, Patrick Seawright, Kevin Seawright, Brian Seawright, Nicholas Seawright, and Matthew Seawright.
