Wanda Jones Harris

Wanda Jones Harris, 85 passed away on August 9, 2026 in Waco, Texas.

Wanda was born on October 16, 1940 in Valley Mills, Texas to Herschel and Opal Jones.

Wanda graduated from Valley Mills High School in 1959 and attended Texas A&I in Kingsville, Texas. It was there that she met and married Jack Harris. They were married for 60 years and had 2 daughters, Michelle and Melinda.

Wanda and Jack were long time members of Valley Mills Church of Christ. She retired from the city of Valley Mills where she worked as the city clerk.  Wanda served on the Board of Directors for the Valley Mills Cemetery Association for over 30 years. She also was very active in other civic activities such as the Heritage Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack and her sister, Patricia Jones Hill.

Wanda is survived by her daughters, Michelle Pardue and husband David and Melinda Valenzuela and husband Ben. Six grandchildren, Jacob Scott and wife Karen, Jared Scott and wife Brooke, Paige Lambright and husband Jack, Matthew Pardue, Travis Valenzuela and Christel Madigan and husband John and six great grandchildren, Brilynn Pardue, Braxden Pardue, Tucker Lambright, Hudson Lambright, Emma Scott and Barrett Scott.

Visitation will be from 3-5:00 on Saturday August 15 at Foss Funeral home.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 Sunday August 16 at the Valley Mills Church of Christ. 

Interment will be in the Valley Mills Cemetery.
