Thomas Griffin May 11, 1942 ~ Feb. 19, 2014 Thomas Griffin, age 71, of Brazoria, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at his residence. Graveside service will be 1 P.M. Sunday, Feb. 23rd at Prairie View Cemetery near Turnersville under the direction of Foss Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Thomas was born on May 11, 1942, in Atascosa, Texas, to Lester and Florence (Raschke) Griffin. He married Carolyn Nell (Black) Griffin on September 3, 1966, in Bloomington, Texas. They were married 45 years until her death on August 23, 2012. Thomas was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He had formerly worked as a postman in Irving. He owned Tom's Cleaning Service and worked at Dawson Independent School District for 26 years. Survivors include a daughter: Terrie Benavides; son-in-law: Robert Benavides; a sister: Jean Cowan; a brother: Jimmy Griffin; 4 grandchildren: Ryan and Jamie Russell, Aaron and Halley Benavides; and a great granddaughter: Angel Marie Ruiz.
