Thelma Gauer Meyer, age 90, of Crawford, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at her residence surrounded by family and friends.  Funeral service will be 10 AM, Saturday, August 20th, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford, Texas, under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Services.   Interment will be at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M., Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford, Texas. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Crawford.

Thelma was born May 9, 1926, at Coryell City, Texas, to Andrew and Hanna (Schultz) Gauer.  She married Wilfred Henry Meyer on January 17, 1945.  He preceded her in death in 1978.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.  She was confirmed on March 17, 1940, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Coryell City.

Thelma was a 1944 graduate of Crawford High School.  She worked in the school lunchroom for 7 years (1971-1978).  A job she loved.  She retired from Smead Manufacturing  after working there for fifteen years  (1978-1993).  After retiring, she baby sat grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Thelma was a loving,  devoted Christian.     Her sister-in-law, the late Emma Louis Westerfield, Vernita Wiethorn and her enjoyed running errands and shopping together.  She loved gardening, playing dominoes, and she was a very good listener.  She loved unconditionally. Her family, extended family, and friends meant everything to her.  Her greatest accomplishment besides graduating from Crawford High School was her 3 children.

Preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Leslie Lynn Meyer, 2 sisters:  Mrs. Arnold (Minnie) Miller, Mrs. R. L. (Leona ) Norman; 4 brothers:  Walter Gauer, Ervin Gauer, Edwin Gauer, and J. D. Gauer.    Survivors include 2 sons:  Jimmy Meyer and wife Juanita, Stanley Meyer and wife Connie; a daughter:  Karen Meyer Wilson;  5 grandsons:  David and Daneya Meyer, Gary and Chris Meyer, Keith and Maydee Meyer, Clint Meyer, Clay and Lindsey Meyer; 1 granddaughter:  Krista Wilson;  a great grandson:  Frank Meyer; 4 great granddaughters:  Taylor & Jake Ratliff and Hunter Meyer, Jeanette Meyer, Lyrik Meyer; many nieces, nephews, and a special friend of the family, DeeDee Goad.

Pallbearers grandsons:  David Meyer, Gary Meyer, Keith Meyer, Clint Meyer, Clay Meyer and great grandson Frank Meyer.
