Carolyn Sue Patterson age 67 of Valley Mills passed away November 3, 2011 at her home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Monday Nov 7th at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Whitney Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3-5 P.M. Sunday at the Funeral Home. Sue was born November 21, 1943 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Rueben E. and Bertha Inez(Carter) Franklin. She married Rev. Jim Patterson Sr. on Aug. 18, 1961, in Ft. Worth, Texas. She was a member of the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church in Valley Mills. Sue worked with her husband as he pastured churches in Mason, Weslaco, and in West, Tx. She was currently employed with the U.S.D.A until her recent illness. She was preceded in death by a daughter Dianna Armstrong. Survivors include her husband: Rev. Jim Patterson Sr., a sister; Kay Pruett. Children: Jimmy Patterson Jr., Julie Leeper and Cynthia Anthony; 7 grandchildren: Jeffrey Thrift, Matthew Anthony, Amanda Armstrong, Jeremy Anthony, Daniel Armstrong, Jennifer Patterson and Andrew Jones; and 4 great grandchildren: Eric Anthony, Plexi Armstrong, Peter Armstrong and Isaiah Anthony. Memorials may be made to the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church of Valley Mills.
