Ruth Poston

Ruth Poston, who would have been 100 years old this year, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton, Texas.  A wife, mother, and grandmother was her role in life as her family was the most important thing in her life.   Funeral service will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the Valley Mills First United Methodist Church with Pastor Jamie McGlothin officiating under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Internment will be in the Poston Odle Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church.  Memorials may be made to either Poston-Odle Cemetery or First United Methodist Church in Valley Mills, Texas.

Mrs. Poston was born on August 21, 1919, on the Foote Ranch near Turnersville, Texas, to John and Charlsie  (Jones) McKinney.  She was a graduate of Mosheim High School.    She married D. T. Poston in 1938.  She and her husband owned the general store in Valley Mills for many years before moving back to Waco.  After her D. T. retired from being fire chief from James Connnally Air Force Base they then managed Inn 7 Motel in Bellmead as well as several rental properties.   They later moved back to Bosque County in 1978  to their farm "Serendipity".  It was there they could concentrate on enjoying life together with their children, grandchildren,  great grandchildren, great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, children:  Douglas Poston, John Poston; grandchild: Madison Poston, and a sister:  Ione Drahn.

Survivors include her sister:  Mildred Riddle, her children:  Beverly Castro, Don Poston and wife Kitty, Ron Poston and wife Pam; grandchildren:  Mike Castro and wife Cathy, Terry Castro and wife Cher, Robin Tomchesson and her husband Tony,  David Wolf and wife Luz, Kevin Wolf and wife Melinda, Ronnie Poston and wife Natalie, Karen Gravitt and husband Paul, Sherrie Chapman and husband Rick, Kevin Poston and wife Tracy, Barbara Poston, Stephanie Worrell and husband Stace, Stacey Poston and husband Chad, John Shappell, Amy Westerlund, Rusty Poston, Justin Poston and wife Trista, Jacob Poston and wife Nicole, Jeffrey Poston and wife Lauren; several great grandchildren, and a host of great great grandchildren.
