Roy Neuman
January 6, 1935 - April 28, 2024

Roy Eugene Neuman went to be with his God Sunday morning, April 28, 2024, after a wonderful Texas rain.

A Memorial service will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday May 1, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Roy was born on January 6, 1935 on the family farm near Crawford. He was the son of the late Walter and Leona (Westerfield) Neuman. He was baptized, confirmed, and married in the Lutheran Church. After graduating from Crawford High School, he received his bachelor's degree from Texas Lutheran University at Seguin followed by a master's degree from Baylor University.

While in Seguin, Roy met Rosalind Rode, and they were married at Cherry Spring Lutheran Church on June 2, 1957, another rainy day. He trained as an Aviation Officer Candidate at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. Upon his return, he farmed, ranched, and worked at Amicable Life Insurance Company in Waco. Eventually, his career headed in a different direction, and he returned to Crawford High School, but this time, he was the High School Principal and taught four high school English classes as well as advanced mathematics. He enjoyed his students and could always tell interesting stories about being at Crawford.

Roy always enjoyed learning something new and soon found himself on bulldozers and excavators building ponds, lakes, and terraces. His ponds and tanks were his way of leaving his mark across Central Texas. He always enjoyed driving or flying around after a rain to see if the ponds he built were catching water.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother, Ray Neuman.  He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rosy, and his daughter, Rebecca Neuman Jones and husband, Steven Jones; grandsons, Seth Jones, Evan Jones and wife, Candice; great granddaughters Jayna and Josie Jones; sister-in-laws, Jeanetta Neuman, Helen Hoffmann and husband, Carroll, Emy Stubblefield, Irene Merz and husband, Tracy; as well as nieces and nephews who were near and dear to his heart.

The day of Roy's death, the water ran deep over the pipes of his lower tank, and that big hole of water was brim full.

The family extends a great thanks to the wonderful people who lent a hand when Rosy had hers full.
