Roy Hyde January 9, 1927--May 12, 2012 Roy Hyde, age 85, beloved husband and father passed away on May 12, 2012, at his home in Waco surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills with Rev. Pat Cummings officiating. Interment will be at 2 P.M. at Rosemound Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 - 8 P.M. Monday at Patton Baptist Church. Memorial may be made to Patton Baptist Church, PO Box 538, Valley Mills, Texas 76689. Roy was born in Robinson, Texas, on January 9, 1927, to James Otto and Ida Mae (Ludwick) Hyde. He married the love of his life, Alice Dunn, on July 7, 1952, in Waco. They were blessed with three daughters. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of the Turtle Association; later known as Rodeo Cowboy Association (RCA). He was known as one of the best bull riders in the Waco area. He worked for T.P. & L. for thirty-five years, retiring in 1985. Roy and Alice were members and leaders of Patton Baptist Church. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Burnell Jurecka, Maurin Key; brothers: J.L. Hyde and Dewey Hyde. Survivors include his wife Alice; daughters: Cheryl Taylor and husband Roland, Tina Hyde, and Renea Hyde Flores; brothers: Bill Hyde and wife Velma, Harold Hyde and wife Loretta, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and their spouses: Michael Pierce and wife Samantha, Candace Baker and husband Jeremy, Alicia Childers and husband Jesse, Tiffany Flores and Wade Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne, Jimmie, Jamey, Jeff, Curtis, and Jay Hyde, Bobby and Roy Lee Dunn. The family would like to express a special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Providence 3 East and Providence's Hospice.
