Roy Cooper, age 65. passed away on June 4, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.

Roy Allen Cooper was born on July 16 1960 in Houston, Texas to Joe Arnold Cooper and Margaret Helen (Sivils) Cooper. He was raised in Waco, Texas, but spent the majority of his life in Laguna Park, Texas.  Forty years ago this month Roy was in an automobile accident in Laguna Park which left him disable the rest of his life.

Roy had a deep love for classic rock and roll, especially bands like Deep Purple and Grand Funk Railroad, and his music was always playing wherever he was. Though he never had children of his own, Roy had a heart full of love for his many nieces and nephews, whom he loved as if they were his own. To him family was everything. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Margaret Helen Cooper; and his twin sister Rhonda Hellen Cooper, with whom he shared a special bond.

Roy is survived by his siblings: Joe Paul Cooper of Laguna Park, Texas, Gary Lynn Cooper of Waco, Texas, and Michelle Eugenia Cooper of Panama City, Florida. Along with many extended family members and friends.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.  Roy will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
