Rosa Bartels March 12, 1918-March 3, 2014 Rosa Bartels, 95, of Mosheim passed away March 3, 2014, in Valley Mills. Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Coryell City, with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 P.M. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Foss Funeral Home. Rosa was born March 12, 1918 in DeWitt county in Texas. She was the daughter of the late Rudolf and Sophie (Rohrbein) Lippke. From 1942 till 1949 she worked in Dallas, Texas. On January 11, 1949 she married Erick Bartels of Mosheim, Texas. Preceding her in death were her husband of 39 years Erick, son Steven, 1 sister and 2 brothers and great granddaughter Stephanie Pierce. Survivors are son Ernest & wife Jackie of Mosheim, daughter in law Carla Bartels of Valley Mills, six grandsons Brian Bartels & wife Johanna of Pratt, Kansas, Justin Bartels of Wilmington, Delaware, Lance Bartels & wife Brook, Steven Bartels & wife Hannah, Duane Pierce & wife Nancy all of Mosheim, Eric Pierce & wife Peggy of Valley Mills, and granddaughter Charlotte Stephens & husband Bubba of Valley Mills. Nine great grandchildren: Shelby Bartels, Ericka & Tyler Stephens, Brandon, Tiffanie, Haley, Bret, Noah and Damon Pierce. Pallbearers will be Brandon Pierce, Dennis Weiss, Darrell Newman, Weldon Bartels, Hagen Lippke and John Polston.
