Roger O. McClary Jan. 19, 1936~Dec. 13, 2012 Roger O. McClary of Mosheim passed away at his home on December 13, 2012. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Mosheim. His son Rev. Roger D. McClary will be officiating. Graveside services to follow at Lanes Chapel Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. The family will be receiving visitors at Foss funeral home from 5:00 - 7:00 on Monday, December 17, 2012. Roger was born on January 19, 1936, to James D and Amber E. McClary in Princeton, Missouri. Roger joined the army on January 27, 1956. Roger received his officer's commission on May 26, 1964. After serving his country in Vietnam and two tours in Korea, Roger was awarded the; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Armed Forces Honor Medal, Bronze Star, and the Army Commendation Medal. Roger retired from the army on January 31, 1976, achieving the rank of Major. Roger worked at Marathon Battery in Waco, and Hercules in McGregor. One area of service he was extremely proud of was serving as Pastor at Whitehall Baptist Church. Roger is preceded in death by his Father James D. McClary and Mother Amber E. McClary. A sister Madge Swaringen. And a granddaughter Jamie Higginbotham. Roger is survived by two daughters; Amy Eldridge and her husband Randy of Gerard, PA, Jamie Perdue and husband Mike of Payne Springs, TX. A son Roger D. McClary and wife Cindy of Eddy, Tx., 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
