Robert Louis Slaughter April 28, 1938 ~ May 14, 2015 Robert Louis Slaughter was born April 28, 1938, in Valley mills, Texas, to Robert and Sadie Slaughter. Robert was baptized at Mars Hill Baptist Church in 1645. He attended schools at Rock Springs, Valley mills, and graduated from A.J. Moore High in 1956. Uncle Bubba, as we knew him, serviced briefly in the U. S. Army. He worked consstruction for Fred Hall, McKinney & James, Young Bros., Downing Bros, and Bosque County. He retired from Central Texas Iron Works. Robert was a faithful member and chairman of the deacon board at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church until his failing heath. Robert married Alverta Cox on June 30, 1985. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Jean Montgomery and Marilyn Thomas; two brothers: Gerald and Lawrence Slaughter and one son: Roosevelt McAlpin. Survivors include his wife: Alverta; three children: Criner Jones, Michael Thomas and Bonnie Thomas; siblings: twin sister, Sadie L. Harper, Mattie (Frank) Robinson, Arlillian (George) Vance, Todd (Mary) Slaughter all of Waco, John (Jean) Slaughter of California; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
