Bobby was born January 6, 1941, near Luling, Texas, at Gander Slough to Robert & Elona "Sue" Sharp.  He started school in Kosse, Texas, and graduated from Marlin High School.  He also attended Texas Tech in Lubbock.   He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, guns and discussing politics.  He was a yellow dog Democrat until recently when philosophies changed.  He had his opinion on things & events.  He supported the NRA and other political organizations. He had won many belts and trophies in his karate matches.  He was a member of the Knights Templar and life time member of NRA Golden Eagle.  He was formerly a Sunday school teacher and deacon at Trinity Memorial Baptist Church in Marlin.
He married Joy Nix in 1966 and had 2 wonderful sons, Steve and Wesley plus a baby girl who died at birth.  Wesley was killed in a car accident in 1995.  The light went out of Bobby's eyes for as long time.  He was especially proud of his son Steve, formerly Falls County Judge and who is now an attorney in Marlin.
Bobby was a worker, always busy.  He worked at his dad's service station while in high school, then for Clint Ferguson's Chevrolet dealership.  He had a TV/radio business with a garage located in the back.  He went to work for Marlin I.S.D. in transportation and maintenance.  He worked for Texas Department of Corrections and then return to Marlin I.S.D. where he retired.  After retirement he started hauling cars, cargo trailer, and finally fancy horse trailers.  He traveled all over the U.S.
His love of motorcycles took him all over the 48 states on a Harley Davidson Road King.  In 2009 he married his friend and companion Betty Braun.  He enjoyed living in Valley Mills.  He and Betty joined the Valley Mills Historical Society and attended the Bosque County Historical lunches.  He always marked his calendar for the dinners at the Mosheim, Cayote, and the Lord's Acre at the Methodist church.  They enjoyed traveling through Texas to historical and out of the way places.  They saw over 200 courthouses and many post office murals.  They followed Quanah Parker from Groesbeck to Ft. Sill, Ok where he is buried. Then they had the John Wesley Hardin quest.  Health issues caused him to enter the Clifton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center while Betty stayed in Valley Mills with gastric cancer.  Family and friends rallied to help both of them.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Valley Mills;  his mother:  Sue Sharp, of Marlin;  a son Steve Sharp and wife Barbara of Marlin; 2 grandsons:  Wesley and Jeffrey Sharp.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the nurses and aides at the Clifton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care.
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why.
