Robert Lee Alford May 11, 1925~ Sept. 4, 2012 Robert Lee Alford, age 87, of Clifton formerly of Valley Mills, passed away Sept. 4, 2012, at his home. Funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday at Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 - 7 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Robert was born on May 11, 1925, in Coryell County to Bill and Hester Pearl (Troutt) Alford. He was a World War II Army veteran. He married Rosalie Locklear on Oct. 11, 1947, in Waco. Robert was a farmer and rancher. He had worked for Kimble Feed Co. of Clifton and Clifton Lumber Company. Because of health reasons in 1989, he retired as a supervisor from Clifton Chemical Lime. Robert was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of almost 65 years: Rosalie Alford of Clifton; a daughter: Carol Franklin; a sister: Marybelle Donaldson of Ft. Worth; a grandson: John Franklin Sr. and wife Ary of Temple; 2 great grandchildren: Mary Grace and John Junior; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearer are: Stanley Gibbons Jr., Richard Hoisington, Merle Belcher, Ray Dale Watley, Melvin Harris, and Weldon Davis.
