Raymond Weschke, age 86, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away on April 18, 2024. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services which will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills with Pastor Adam Haile and Rev. Jerry Walters officiating. Interment will be in the Crawford Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Memorials may be made to Bosque Valley Food Pantry in Valley Mills, Texas.
Raymond was born on September 29, 1937, to parents August and Johnnie Crawford Weschke. He was the youngest of four children. The family moved to live in Crawford, Texas, where he went to school and met Carol Lippe. The fell in love and married in 1956. Two children, Greg and Tessa, were born to bless their lives. Raymond was a hard worker and provided well for his family. He was employed by Lehigh Hansin Cement Plant Co. for 37 years, where he worked as quarry foreman. After his and Carol's retirement, they worked together in their cattle and baling operations until he developed dementia. He loved people and was always ready to help out those in need. He was the best husband to Carol, dad to his children, and grandpa to his two grandsons Russ Nelson and Zack Nelson. They all meant everything to him. He preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, brother, and son.
Survivors include his wife Carol, daughter Tessa and son-in-law Sam Michels and grandsons Russ Nelson and Zack Nelson. We thank God for his life and love.
Pallbearers are Steve Frady, Lonnie Gilchrest, Ronnie Smith, David Lippe, Daryl Lippe, Brad Lippe, Jason Nagel and Dormett D. Gilchrest.
