Ray LaVon "Bo" Mooney, age 94, of Seadrift, Texas,  passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016, in Port Lavaca.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested memorials be made to Friends of the Seadrift Library at:  donate.makemydonation.org, (Seadrift, Texas 77983-0264 Educational Institutions and Related Activities) or the charity of your choice.

Bo was born on September 29, 1921, in Valley Mills.  He was the son of Claude Henry and Alice Elizabeth (Roberson) Mooney.  He was in the Army Air Force Corps during World War II.  He retired from Brown and Root after 37 years.  He came to know the Lord and passed away peacefully.  One of Ray's great-grandchildren said, "He's in the best place ever, Heaven".

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Gail and Allen Syrinek of New Braunfels, Texas; son and daughter-in-law:  Von and Diane Mooney of Seadrift, Texas; son and daughter-in-law:  Dale and Kathy Mooney of La Porte, Texas; daughter: Shirley Dooley of Austin, Texas, seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Ned Mooney, Wayne Mooney, Vernon Mooney, Mable Kobel, Ruby Travis all of Texas and Joyce Kirby of Maryland.
