Perry Jack Martin

Perry Jack Martin, age 80, of Jacksboro, Texas passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, January 3, 2021. A private family burial will take place at Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Perry Jack Martin was born July 11, 1940 in Robstown, Texas. He was the son of Jack and Oleta (Flemister) Martin. He grew up in the First United Methodist Church of Valley Mills. While in high school he worked as a Soda Jerk at McNeil Drugstore. Perry graduated from Valley Mills High School in 1958 and served in the Air Force from 1960 to 1963. Afterwards, he attended North Texas State University and obtained his Bachelors of Business Degree.

In 1966, he married Dorothy Heath and they were married for 31 years. They raised their children in the Clifton area where they attended First Baptist Church where he was baptized. Perry owned and operated a General Store on Lake Whitney for over twenty years while also running a family cattle operation. He loved being outdoors, attending cutting horse competitions, working on his farm and sports cars. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Kristi Lynn Martin.

Survivors include: son: Matt Martin and wife, Lisa Martin of Clifton; daughter: Melanie (Martin) Gloff and husband David Gloff of Clifton; grandchildren: Meagan (Martin) Zarate, Ryan and Melanie (Lucas) Martin, Emily Martin, Grant Gloff, Garrett Gloff, and Madison Gloff; great grandchildren: Dawson Zarate, Bradley Martin, Makayla Martin, Brayden Martin, Jennings Martin; sister and brother-in-law: Sherry and Sam Elrod. Along with a multitude of nieces and nephews
