Patricia Lynn Seawright
May 15, 1953 ~ Feb. 17, 2019
Patricia Lynn (Forester) Seawright, known to the family and friends who loved her as "Pattie," passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the age of 65 in the Houston Sugar Land Methodist Hospital. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Valley Mills. Visitation will be held Friday, February 22 nd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with graveside services scheduled for Saturday, February 23 rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Valley Mills Cemetery.
Pattie was born on May 15, 1953 in Sinton, Texas near Corpus Christi. Her parents were Buford Giles Forester and Carmelita Osborne. Because her father worked in the oilfields, Pattie and her family moved throughout the state of Texas. She was very proud to be a direct descendant of those who helped establish the Republic of Texas and those who supported the defenders of the Alamo during the battle with Santa Anna.
She met Gary, the man of her dreams, when she discovered that the handsome young man from El Paso lived in the same apartment complex. Pattie lived on the second floor and Gary lived on the first floor. They would often meet in passing at the stairwell. Their wedding was on April 7, 1977 and were married for 41 years and 10 months. Throughout their marriage they raised two sons, Patrick and Kevin. Pattie was very involved with her boys and served many years as a den mother for Cub Scouts, a leader for Boy Scouts, and an active and strong supporter of her sons' swim team, the Sugar Land Sharks.
During her professional career she worked 31 years as a secretary and as support staff in education and industry. In her spare time, Pattie also enjoyed volunteering at the Sugar Land Methodist Hospital and sharing her beautiful handmade arts and crafts projects with patients and special friends. She loved to send realistic butterflies as a thank you to those who needed their spirits lifted. She called these her "happies" because her gifts made people smile.
After raising two magnificent sons, Pattie was excited to share her talents with daughters' in-law Vanessa and Jacqueline. Together they did girls things like shopping and sharing tips for favorite dishes.
In her later life, Pattie began an intense interest in learning the Korean language and discovering more about the culture of the Korean people. This curiosity was due to the fact that her father served in the U.S. military during the Korean War.
Pattie was preceded in death by her parents. Since she was an only child as well as her father, she adopted and was loved deeply by her in-laws, Alvin and Wanda Seawright. She will be laid to rest in the Seawright Family plot. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary, son Patrick and wife Vanessa and son Kevin and wife Jacqueline. Her bright smile and loving heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Boy Scouts of America.
