Pamela Jill Ficklin May 9, 1958~May 31, 2014 Pamela Jill Ficklin, age 56, of Valley Mills passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, in a Waco Hospital surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 3rd at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills. Interment will be in the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M. Monday at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to your local Food Pantry. Pam was born on May 9, 1958, in Killeen, Texas. She was the daughter of Thomas and Jeanette (Hopper) Vannatta. She was a 1976 graduate of Valley Mills High School. Pam was very active in sports and began working as a nursing assistant. As an Army wife she lived in Missouri, Texas, Virginia and Germany where two of her children were born before moving back to Valley Mills in 1989. After moving back to Valley Mills, she returned to working as a nursing assistant, medication aide and rehab assistant. She was a compassionate and loving caregiver for 33 years until her illness made it necessary for her to stop working in 2006. She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Vannatta in 1997. She loved spending time with family, enjoyed going to sporting events and watching them on TV, most of all she loved her children, grandbabies and family with all her heart. Her friends knew her as a kind, forgiving friend who was a great listener. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her mother: Jeanette Vannatta; her daughters: Patricia Lake and her husband Chris, Sheri Collier and her husband Robert, Kelly Coker; a son Michael Ficklin; father of her children, David Ficklin; siblings: Gail Harris and husband Kenneth, , Tom Vannatta, Tim Vannatta and wife Lindy, Danny Vannatta and wife Penny; sister-in-law: Cindy Vannatta; a very special cousin: Susan Fagan; grandchildren: Andrew and Alex Hedrick, Olivia Lake, Audrey Lake, Destiny Ficklin, Leia Coker, Kandice Ficklin Coker, Elena Collier; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
