Obituary

Onita Gay Martin Alexander went to be with her Lord on April 1, 2012. Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, April 7th at the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to China Spring Volunteer Fire Department. Onita was born October 10, 1925, in Goberg, Texas. She was the daughter of George and Edith Etoy (Woodson) Martin. She married James Joseph (Jay) Alexander on Dec. 22, 1942, and had five wonderful children. As a young woman, Onita worked at both Wesson Biscuit Compaany and Wolf Manufacturing. She was a full time mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Second to her love of family, was her three dogs: Buttercup, Priss, and Tinkerbell. Onita loved her flowers, from roses to pansies. She was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life and husband Jay, step-father, Wesley Wear, son-in-law, Steve Sayles and a grandson, Randy Cleveland. Left to mourn her loss are her children: Barbara Sayles, Edith and husband John Lancaster, Letha and husband George Melvin Cleveland, James Alexander and wife Shirley, Marion (Cloud) Alexander and wife Betty; a brother: G. W. Martin; sister-in-law: Shelia Martin, a sister: Josealee White and husband Larry; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons: James and Melvin Cleveland, Chris, Thomas, and Brian Alexander, and John Joseph Lancaster. Family will be at the home of Betty Alexander, 269 Easy Acres Rd, Axtell, Texas.
