Nick (Papa Nick) 74, of Robinson, Texas formerly of Valley Mills, Texas passed away Oct. 25, 2017, peacefully surrounded by his family, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and Cancer.  Funeral services will be on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills, Texas,  with interment to follow at Crawford Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Visitation will be from Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 2 - 4 PM at Foss Funeral Home in Valley Mills, Texas.

Nick was born August 17, 1943 in Hamilton County, Texas to  Ross Sherman & Ellen Pauline Thompson. He was married to Margaret Pecina on October 17, 1964 and during their 13 year marriage had three daughters. He then married his estranged wife, Sharon Broussard where they lived together in Valley Mills, Texas. After this time Nick made his home in Robinson, Texas with his oldest daughter Darlene. During his adult life he worked for several Heating and Air Conditioning companies. Nick worked for Lochridge Priest for 13 years before Parkinson's forced him into retirement. He loved camping with his family and friends, going on trial rides, making western style furniture, and working and restoring his classic cars. He had a love for his family and enjoyed being around them. He left behind a great legacy and made a huge impact on all who had the honor to know and love him.  He was preceded in death by his parents  Ross Sherman and Ellen Pauline Thompson and siblings Sherman Ross, William Ross and Wanda Dee.

Nick is survived by his 3 daughters; Darlene Garcia, husband Andrew, Diane Pistole, and Dana Thompson, grandchildren: Adrian Garcia (Ryan Donahue), Chastidy Garcia, husband Joshua, Brandy Moss, husband Kaleb, Chanc Thompson, wife Amanda, Wade Pistole Jr., wife Tina, Hailey Pistole, Fiance Matthew Winrow, Andy Sanchez Jr. and Brandon Haney: great grandchildren:  Christian Garcia, Anthony Garcia, Analyssa Moss, Kamrin Moss,  Ashtyn Thompson, Colton Thompson, Brenna Thompson, Wyatt Pistole,  Kanon Winrow, Abri Sanchez; son – in – laws: Wade Pistole Sr., Brett Haney; sisters:  Loretta Henderson, husband Joe, Willie Pearl Abel and Brother Billy Paul Thompson, wife Gwen; estranged wife Sharon and step daughters; Shannon Gould and Tammy Elston; step grandchildren; Brittney, Cynthia and Johnathan Gonzales, Kayla Reyes, Stephanie Powers and Austin Jones; step great grandchildren; Blayne and Tucker Reyes, Aubriee Gonzales along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers: Wesley Dale Thompson, Jack Abel Jr., Nathan Doss, Daniel Henderson, Billy Thompson Jr., Carlos Gonzales.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Brad Light, Bill Reel, Wayne Light.

The family would like to thank Baylor Scott and White Hospice for the care they provided for our father. A very special thank you to Penny Foster for caring for our father during the past 3 years. We would also like to thank Nurses Unlimited for the caregivers that provided for our father; Jessica Bedford, Nikki Smith and Betty Maldonado.
