Nancy Pugh

Nancy Lee Pugh, age 72, of Valley Mills, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jan. 9, 2020.

Visitation will be Monday from 2 - 4 P.M. for her family and close quilting friends and then from 5 - 7 P.M. for everyone at Foss Funeral Home in Valley Mills.  Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday under the directions of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center at Valley Mills First Baptist Church. In luie of flowers, donations may be made to either Valley Mills First Baptist Church or Bosque Art Center (BAC), c/o Quilt Guild, PO Box 373, Clifton, Texas 76634

Nancy was born Dec. 22, 1947, to Robert and Leota (Witt) Jenkins.  She attended Northern High School in Garrett County, MD graduating in 1965.  She moved to Texas in 1981.  She had previously lived in several states, finally moving back to MD where she met Bill Pugh.  Nancy worked as an accountant in Waco for many years after graduating MCC with an accounting degree.  In 1994 she opened Nancy's Quilt Block in downtown Waco.  She expanded her shop over the years selling quilting supplies and sewing machines.  Quilting was her passion.  She quilted for over 40 years ands won numerous ribbons and quilt shows with her quilts.  She and Bill were vendors at numerous Quilt Shows around Texas.  She belonged to 2 Quilt Guilds and taught several quilting classes.  She retired from working in 2013 but continued with her quilting.  She also sponsored an annual Quilt Retreat for 20 years.  She and Bill moved to Valley Mills in 2010.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Valley Mills were she sang in the choir.    She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers:  Tom and Ralph (Billy) Jenkins.

She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Pugh of Valley Mills; daughters :  Cindy Shockley of Hewitt; Dawn Peterson of Inchelium WA; Bill's children:  Daniel Pugh of Berkley Springs, W VA, Christina Abraham of Lorena, Melinda Pugh of Paw Paw W VA, and 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
