Mildred Laverne "Lavern" Davis, born July 1, 1941, to Fred and Bessie Miller, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 22, 2026.

Lavern was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered around her family. She shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with her loving husband, Billy Ray Davis. She will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. She was an amazing nurse who took exceptional care of her patients, always going above and beyond with compassion and dedication. Lavern had a strong faith in the Lord, which guided her life and brought her peace.

She loved to travel, loved God deeply, and would do anything for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bessie Miller; her stepfather, Antoine Wilganoski; her brother, Roy Miller; her sister, Elaine Jones; her son, James Kenneth Davis.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Billy Ray Davis; her children, Janet Lacy, Jackie Mills and husband Greg, Lucky Davis, and Kenneth Davis and wife Kari; and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Eagle Springs Cemetery near McGregor.  Visitation will be 5 - 7 PM on Wednesday at Foss Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
