Migel Angel Mata Sr., age 61, of Gatesville, Texas, passed away on November 24, 2015, at Scott & White Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Memmoria services will be 2 P.M. Monday, Nov.30, 2015, at the Grace Assembly Church in Gatesville, Texas, under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Migel was born on November 17, 1954, in Poteet, Texas, to Santos Diaz and Maria Beatrice (Coronado) Mata. He was married to Vicki DeChaume on April 16, 1978, in McGregor. He was a Vietnam Marine Veteran. Formerly worked for the City of Gatesville, Wall-Mart, and was working at Stripoes in Gatesville until health issues forced him to retire. He was preceded in death by his wife Vicki; brothers: Juan Antonio Mata, Augustine Mata, and a sister: Guadalupe Salinas.
Survivors include his 3 children: Arcelli Nicole Mata, Migel Angel Mata Jr. and wife Ronisha, Krystal Mata and fiance' Charles Lancaster; a brother: Le Mata; sisters: Esmeralda Guerra, Earnestine Guthrie,; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
