Matilda Olidia Bishop, age 82, of Valley Mills, TX passed away peacefully from this life on January 28, 2018 surrounded by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held
Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:00am
at the Old West Cowboy Church in Robinson, Texas under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center Interment will be February 23, 2018 at Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
Tillie was born on May 25, 1936 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Abel Valdez and Bertha (Valdez) Pope. She loved to talk about growing up at The Broadmoor and playing the piano for Ms. Penrose (the former owner). She met the love of her life, Fred Bishop, and they married on August 13, 1952 in Butler County, Ohio and started their family. They then moved to Marion, Indiana. She loved to ride motorcycles, cook, play the piano, camping, and tell people about Jesus. She was a wonderful caretaker and loved her family passionately.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on October 3, 2013, her parents, Abel and Bertha, three brothers, Toby, Candy, and Dennis, and her grandchild, Jeramy.
Survivors include her 7 children: James and Donna Bishop, Victor and Marilyn Bishop, Joe and Linda Bishop, Aaron and Jayne Bishop (all of Marion, Indiana) Jerry Bishop, Valarie and Thomas Warnock (of Valley Mills, Texas) and Sherri Lynn Lapinski (of Spring Lake, North Carolina), two sisters: Myra Gray and Donna Bolchalk, a sister-in-law, Mary Valdez, 30 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
