Mary Brewer
August 28, 1927 ~ July 22, 2023

With grace and peace that can only be provided by our Lord, Mary Brewer of Waco and Valley Mills entered in the arms of Jesus on July 22, 2023.  Mary was born August 28, 1927 in DeLeon, Tx.  After graduating from DeLeon High School, Mary began Nursing School as a Cadet Nurse at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital.  Upon receiving her degree as a Registered Nurse, she enjoyed having the opportunity to serve others on a daily basis.When the Military Nurses Memorial opened in Washington DC, Mary attended the 3-day event in celebration of the first memorial built to honor women nurses.

Mary's passion for helping others led her to Mexico and Romania on mission trips thru the Baptist convention. Mary also loved serving those in her Valley Mills community.  She spent many Thanksgivings helping prepare and distribute Thanksgiving meals to community members.

Mary began working in the furniture business with her husband, Bill and continued to do so for 50 years.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Brewer and her son, Billy Brewer.

Mary is survived by her son, Robby and wife Jackie; grandchildren, Billy Brewer, Tess and Kelsey Brewer, Clark Barlow, Ali Barlow, Joey Rowland, and Ami Seriago; her great grandchildren, Jessica Brewer, Casey Brewer, Griffin Seriago, and Olivia Barlow; Former daughter-in-law Debbie Griffin; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will begin on Thursday, July 27th with a 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. visitation and funeral beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church Valley Mills with Dr. John Wheatley officiating under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A private graveside will be later at Waco Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Valley Mills Youth .
