Martha Rebecca (Becky) Strawser

Martha Rebecca (Becky) Strawser, of Valley Mills, Texas, died Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the age of 78. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 27, at 2 p.m., in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Valley Mills.

Becky was born in Shreveport, LA, on February 11, 1948, to Lt. Col. Charles L. Simmons, Jr. and Martha Jane Simmons. Raised during her childhood years in Lake Charles, LA, the Simmons family then moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where Becky finished high school. She soon met the love of her life, Harry Martin Strawser, Jr., whom she married shortly after.Following Harry’s Air Force career, the couple settled in Valley Mills, Texas, where they raised their two sons: Thomas Jason Strawser and William Wayne Strawser. Becky’s life consisted of spending time with her grandchildren, raising and riding horses, and spending time with her cats. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Valley Mills, including a long season of singing in the church choir.

Becky is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Chuck, as well as her husband, Harry.Becky is survived by her sisters, Rachel and Rhoda; two sons: Jason (wife Belinda) and William; three grandchildren, Koby (wife Chasity), Whitney (husband Jacob), and Kennadi (husband Brayden); and seven great-grandchildren: Markus, Thomas Jason II, Manuel, Lincoln, Emmett, Rowan, and River.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills with Pastor Adam Hail officiating.  

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
