Margaret Reed Nov. 13, 1930~~ Dec. 17, 2011 Margaret Elizabeth Calfee Reed, 81, of Valley Mills, Texas was welcomed into her Savior's arms on December 17, 2011, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's. Funeral services will be 9 A.M. Tuesday at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Whitney Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 6 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Reed was born on November 13,1930. She graduated from Mosheim High School as valedictorian. She graduated from Clifton Jr. College with an associate's degree. She met Alvin Morris Reed while attending college, dated, and they married in May 1950. She had four sons, Danny, David, Ray and Paul about one year apart while living in Kingsville, Texas. They bought a farm in Riviera, Texas and raised their family there from 1956 to 1993. When Morris retired they returned to Valley Mills. Margaret was a faith filled woman who loved the Lord and brought a lot of joy and happiness into many peoples lives. She was a talented musician, singer, artist, and nationally acclaimed poet. She was welcomed in heaven by her baby David, her parents, Ruby and Napoleon Calfee, and her brother Donald. Margaret is survived by her husband of 61 years, her beloved sister Dolly Cox, three sons, Dan, Ray, Paul, 11 grandchildren: Danielle Botts, Michael Reed, Justin Rivera, Jeremy Rivera, Lashelle Inman, Melody Cassels, Amber Sanglier, Megan Satterwhite, Racheal Reed, Jeannelle Benek, Jesse Garcia; 10 great grandchildren: Bobby Atrozskin, Riley Rivera, Chloe Rivera, Bonnie Reed, April Inman, Hayden Cassels, Madison Cassels, Brendan Cassels, Isabella Garcia, and JJ Garcia. She was known to all who loved her as "Granny". She will be greatly missed.
