Linda Joe LeBarre Isbell, of Clifton, Texas, passed into her new life on Wednesday, January 20 after a determined battle against Covid-19 in Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Clifton, Texas at 11:00 am on her birthday and planned retirement day, Wednesday, January 27, with Rev. Mary Gean Cope presiding. State mandated social distancing will be practiced at this event and masks are required. Visitation with the family will follow the service. Please do not attend if you might be sick or if you have been exposed to Covid-19.
Linda was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on January 27, 1955 to Alvah Gene Jones LeBarre and Joseph David LeBarre.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack Willard Isbell, Jr., her son Jack Willard (JW) Isbell, III, and her in-laws Jack Willard Isbell, Sr., Annie Mae Isbell, and Jerry Isbell.
Surviving Linda are her children Leigh Ann Isbell of Waco, Joe Angus Isbell of Clifton, and Karyn GraceAnn Isbell of Clifton, her sister in-law Patsy Isbell of Valley Mills, and her brother-in-law John Edward Isbell and his wife, Dollie, of Valley Mills. She is also survived by a number of cousins, including Elisa Bekkelund of Clifton and Tracie Bekkelund Phelps and her husband Luke, of Houston, Texas.
An entrepreneur, Linda worked in and owned a number of businesses over the years. Her father-in-law's heart attack and hospitalization in the 1990's inspired her to go into the medical field, beginning with patient transport at Providence Hospital. She worked and studied her way up to orderly, LVN, RN, BSN, and FNP, working many years at Providence in surgery. She spent two years in Arizona, working for the Indian Health Service, and over 20 years at Goodal-Witcher Hospital in Clifton, much of that in the clinic as an FNP and in the Emergency Department.
Linda graduated from Valley Mills High School in 1973. She attended McLennan Community College in Waco, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master's Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. During the last few years she was also co.-owner of Brazos Staffing, providing medical staffing.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Linda's church First United Methodist Church or FUMC Preschool, at PO Box 529 Clifton, Texas 76634.
The memorial service will be live-streamed at www.fumcclifton.com.
Arrangements by Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Valley Mills, Texas. Burial will be at a later date at Post Oak Cemetery near Mosheim, Texas.
