Lillian (Zoe) Northup, age 84, of Valley Mills went to be with her Lord on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011. Graveside services will be 10 A.M. Tuesday, November 15th at the Valley Mills Cemetery followed by a 11 A.M. Memorial service at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Zoe was born on October 28, 1927 to Ernest and Velera (Calfee') Ficklin, the second of three children. She spent most of her life in the Valley Mills - Mosheim area. She graduated from Mosheim High School in 1945. She went to work for WM Cameron & Company in the office in Waco. On June 20, 1946, she married Ansel Northup. They made their first home in Broadbent, Oregon. It was here their first child, Mary, was born. They moved back to Texas in 1949, and their second child, Linda was born. The family moved back to Oregon and it was there that Ansel was killed in a logging accident. After that she moved back to Valley Mills and married Gerald Northup in 1957. He preceded her in death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dede Oliver, a sister, Margie Thiele, and a brother, Jack Ficklin. It was in 1943 that Zoe accepted Jesus as her personal savior and was baptized at the Mosheim Baptist Church. Through out the years she continued to serve the Lord in many aspects of the church. Zoe received her nursing degree from Goodall-Witcher Hospital in 1964. She continued to work for Goodall-Witcher Hospital for 20 years in all phases of nursing. She was Texas League Vocational Nurse of the year in 1973. Survivors include her daughters: Mary Ann Soukup and husband Frank of West, Linda Johansen and husband Ronnie of Valley Mills; 2 granddaughters: Melissa Crow and husband David, Jennifer Seamanski and husband Jon; 5 great grandchildren: Kelly Ray Oliver II and wife Megan, Gage Oliver and wife Chelsea, James Crow, Seth Seamanski,, and Sarah Seamanski; 2 great-great grandchildren: Rylan Oliver and Khloe Oliver. She is also survived by 6 sisters-in-law: Jane Northup, Mildred Northup, Joyce Mendez, Betty Northup, Grace Northup, Evelyn Northup; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Kelly Ray Oliver, Gage Oliver, Jon Seamanski, David Crow, and Sam Thiele. Honorary Pallbearers: James Crow, Seth Seamanski, and Sarah Seamanski Memorials may be made to either the Valley Mills Cemetery Association or to the Valley Mills Fire Department
