Lillian Belle Barnett

Lillian Belle Barnett, age 88, of Valley Mills passed away, Monday, September 11, 2017, at Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton.  Graveside service will be 10 A.M. Wednesday at the Valley Mills Cemetery with Dr. John Wheatley officiating under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Visitation will be at the cemetery just prior to the graveside.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or to the Texas Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

Belle was born July 28, 1929, in Valley Mills, Texas, to Austin Lee and Robert Lillian (Pool) Roberson.  She was a 1946 graduate of Valley Mills High School.  She married Sonny Barnett in 1949 in Waco, Texas.  While he was in the Air Force they traveled all across the United States.  After Sonny retired from the military they moved back to Valley Mills.  Belle worked at the V. A. Hospital in Waco and after 25 years of civil service, she retired.  She was a member of the Valley Mills Baptist church.  She was preceded in death by her husband and  siblings Jack Roberson, Bobby George Roberson, Doyle Lee Roberson, Opal Ruth (Sissy) Walker.

She is survived by her children:  Donna Miller of Valley Mills, David Barnett and wife Kandy of Abilene, 4 grandchildren;  Clayton Barnett, Coleman Barnett, Jodi Bolden and husband Corey, Dustin Hogan and wife Ashley;  5 great grandchildren: Colden Lane Barnett, Josh Graham, Austin and Kelsey Bolden, and Mason Hogan; several nieces and nephews.
