Lieuan Hodges
June 23, 1936 – February 15, 2026
Lieuan Hodges, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and great‑great‑grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on February 15, 2026. A Celebration of the Life for Lieuan Hodges will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 6:30 P.M. at Grace Temple Baptist Church, 3825 Bosque Blvd., Waco, Texas 76710, with Dr. Craig Klempnauer, Th.D. officiating.
She was born on June 23, 1936, in Paragould, Arkansas, to Early Pitt Ray and Georgie Ann Ray. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Preston Hodges, with whom she shared many years of love, laughter, and devotion. Lieuan grew up in a God‑loving family with her siblings, Lucille Park (Walt), Early Ray (Shirley), and Earle Ray. Together, they shared many cherished memories and life lessons that shaped their lives and the lasting bonds they carried into adulthood.
A devoted mother, Lieuan leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughters, Pamela Sue Wnuck and husband Irvin Wnuck, and Shawna Rae Nommensen and husband Jeff Nommensen. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Lynn Yarborough. Her family was her greatest pride and joy. She was blessed with grandchildren Jessica Warhol (Mark), Brittney West (Kenneth), Gage Yarborough (Hailey), and Allison Wnuck, and was preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Wnuck. Lieuan's love reached through generations—great‑grandchildren McKinley Warhol Owen (Christian), Kiana Warhol Mortimer (Matthew), Everett Warhol, Gavin Warhol, Ethan West, Audrey Yarborough, Wednesday Yarborough, and Loomis Yarborough—as well as her great‑great‑grandson, Joshua James Mortimer.
She is also lovingly remembered as "Sister Ann" by her nieces and nephews Shirley Ann Park, the late Dennis Park (Lena), Becky Thompson (Pete), and Steven Ray (Cara), as well as by many other nieces, nephews, great‑nieces, and great‑nephews. Her granddogs, Indy and Sweetbaby!, also held a special place in her heart.
Lieuan's life was marked by devotion to her family and an unshakable spirit. Those who knew her will forever remember her witty sense of humor, unwavering strength, and sassy personality that brought comfort and laughter to everyone around her. Mom's memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who loved her. "We love you, Mom!"
