Leonard (Leo) Hollingsworth Sr. Nov. 16, 1942 ~ Sept. 18, 2015 Leonard W. Hollingsworth Sr. age 72, of Valley Mills passed away in a Waco hospital surrounded by family and friends on Sept. 18, 2015. Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M. Monday at Foss Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research. Leo was born on Nov. 16, 1942 , Kosciusko, Mississippi, to William and Mary Lucille (Wood) Hollingsworth. He was a 1961 graduate of LaVega High School and attended the University of Texas at Arlington from 1961-1962. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran. He married Evelyn Lloyd on Dec. 28, 1974, in Waco. Leo worked at United Parcel Service (UPS) from 1972-2000. He loved amateur radio, guitars, and most of all his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: John and Janie Wood, his father, William Wright Hollingsworth, and his son Leonard Wright Hollingsworth Jr. Survivors include his mother: Lucille Melton of Waco, a sister: Kitty Paulus and husband Bruce of Baytown, his wife of 41 years: Evelyn Hollingsworth, daughter Kitty Hollingsworth Powell and her husband Gary, 8 grandchildren: Eric Moore of San Marcus, Allen and Gage Hollingsworth both of McGregor, Brayden and Raven Jones both of McGregor, Jessica Chrisman of Waco, Shauna and Ashley Chrisman both of Valley Mills, niece Joy Sladek and husband Brandon of Richmond, and nephew: Joel Paulus of Monroe, NC.
