Obituary

Michelle McDaniel
Oct. 30, 1973-May 28, 2021

Laura Michelle McDaniel was born on Oct. 30, 1973, in Plainview, Texas. She grew up in Plainview and Crosbyton. She was a graduate of Crosbyton High School and attended Plains College in Levelland and Hill College in Hillsboro receiving degrees in early childhood development and business administration.

She married Paul McDaniel in June of 2001 in Levelland. They moved to Aquilla area in 2016, and enjoyed her life near the lake where she spent most of her weekends, boating with her family and friends. She was constantly planning family vacations to the Gulf Coast or to Ruidoso New Mexico. Michelle was the first grandchild for Ray and Ruby Catlett of Kress, Texas. She adored her granny and poppy and learned many lessons about farm life. Her true joy was being with family regardless where they gathered. Her 3 children where the light of her life and always by her side. Her children were the driving force in her life.

She worked as a gate attendant for the U.S. Corp of Engineers at Lake Whitney. Although she was strong willed like her granny, she also was kind hearted and had a loving heart. No one was a stranger to her and always was willing to help those who were struggling. She had a positive attitude finding the best in everyone. She was baptized at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview and loved her Lord.

Those that will miss her love and laughter are her children: twin boys, Kutter and Gunner McDaniel, daughter Layla McDaniel; mother, Judy Oden, friend Arthur John Smith; brother Kevin Ebelilng (Deana), brother Thomas Cook; sister Chasity Cook of Olton, Texas, uncle Curtis and Tracie Catlett of Aquilla; aunt Jan (John) Yohner of Aquilla; aunt Stacy of Olton. Preceded in death and waiting for her in heaven grandparents: Ray and Ruby Catlett.

Michelle McDaniel, age 47, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021, at Goodall-Witcher Hospital. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
