Kenneth Norcross
Nov. 18, 1964 ~ Mar. 25, 2018

Kenneth Porter Norcross, 53 years old, was welcomed by Jesus on March 25, 2018, after a 13-month fight against cancer.  Everyone is invited to a memorial service to celebrate Ken's life on April 8, 2018, 3 P.M. at Shiloh Baptist Church near Crawford, Texas.

He was born in Ovilla, Texas, on November 18, 1964, to Geraldine and Merle Norcross, the middle son of five children. After his parents divorced he lived with his beloved grandparents, Richard and Mary Freeman.  Ken graduated from Richfield HS in 1983. He learned the maintenance trade and carpentry from his Grandpa and began working at the Baylor Physical Plant as a tech. He worked his way up to a management position where he developed support systems and headed up projects. He loved all the people he worked with at Baylor – his coworkers, students, and the faculty. Ken had many stories from his days working there. In 2015, Ken began working with a local wholesale company, Armadillo Tire, as a customer service manager.  He enjoyed helping his good friend, Steven Smith, grow the company.  Ken was a loving and supportive husband. He met his bride, Kelley, through friends and they were soon married on April 7, 1990. After being diagnosed with infertility, they were blessed to adopt Lily Grace from China in 2003. They have made their home on 11 acres near Crawford since then.  Kenneth was a gentle man and creative soul. He painted, loved music and cooking; and owned, read, and remembered just about every book written. He wrote beautifully and would have liked to teach literature in high school. He loved working with and helping kids: through Little League, with PTO, and teaching Sunday School & VBS. He also loved to shop and buy the perfect gift for friends and loved ones. Ken became a Christian when he was 5 years old, and his faith never wavered. He ministered to others by making each person he befriended feel loved and special.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents. Those left to mourn him are "his girls", his wife of almost 28 years, Kelley Reynolds Norcross and daughter, Lily Grace Norcross; parents-in-law Waydell and Darlene Reynolds; brother & sister-in-law Stephen & Dr. Kelley Reynolds and children - Sarah, Jackson, & Carolyn; his four siblings and their families – sister Cindy Rollo and brothers Mark, Gary, and Chris Norcross.
