Keith Wayne Williams age 66 of Osage,Texas left this world unexpectedly, and as a believer in Jesus Christ was received into his heavenly home.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 6 P.M. on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at the First Baptist Church Valley Mills under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. State mandated social distancing will be practiced at this event and mask are required
Keith entered this world on Thursday July 23,1953 to J.D. and Sarah Williams of Bad Axe, Michigan. Most of his elementary years were spent in Alamo, California. He attended Monte Vista High School and excelled in wrestling lettering as a freshman. He began throwing newspapers around age 9 and eventually achieved double diamond mastery, making all the advancements and won boy of the year honors for his district in 1966 and 67. He was later honored as a triple diamond outstanding newspaper boy. His family moved to Texas his junior year in 1970 and he began attending Midway High School while continuing his journey throwing newspapers. He graduated Midway High School in 1971. Soon after he began working at Dairy Queens in Waco Texas and quickly worked his way into management. During this time he met his first wife Sharon Kay Kirkland of Waco. They married on Dec.1,1973. Shortly after age 21 he purchased his first home in China Spring. His daughter Ginny Michelle was born Aug. 18, 1974. Two and a half years later he welcomed his first son Jason Derric on Feb.3, 1977. In 1979, he purchased his first Dairy Queen in Valley Mills and a couple years later moved to reside in Valley Mills. He ended up having a total of four Dairy Queens in his career. He had also been married to Constance Ann Chriswell for a short period of time, with no children. He later married and remarried Leann Dunn and they together had a son Jacob Lee Williams on Aug.11 1994.
In his younger adult life Keith enjoyed softball, motorcycle riding, bowling, family gatherings, collecting shots glasses, taking his kids roller skating and making many family memories. He was also active in civic duties in the community and donated to many different organizations. His salvation was secured in the early 90's when he gave his life to Jesus and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills. He was involved in activities such as choir, mission trips and other needs of the church at both First Baptist and Searsville Churches. He followed his dear friend Andy Walker becoming a member at Searsville and helping with the restorations. He became a first time grandfather AKA (Pops) in 1998 and ended up having a total of four granddaughters and two grandsons, ranging in ages from 21 to 9. He really enjoyed being a Pops and spending time watching them in all their activities.
Survivors include his daughter Ginny Sumpter and husband Jessie of Valley Mills, son Jason Williams and wife Jodi of Hewitt, and son Jacob Williams of Hewitt. Sister Brenda Hale and husband James of Temple, brother Jay Williams and wife Tina of Crawford. Aunt Patricia Ney and husband Butch of Bad Axe, Michigan. Grandchildren Sarah, Emily, Dylan, Kailey, Cohen, and Lanie and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to either to Valley Mills First Baptist Church or to Searsville Country Church. If you wish to send flowers to the family you may do so by calling our local florist The Blossom Shop at 254-675-6444.
