Judith Lynn Wood passed away on September 9, 2024 at Providence Hospital after a brief illness.
A reception honoring Judy's life will be held in the Oak Room at Ridgewood Country Club on Saturday, October 19 at 11:30 A.M .

Judy was born on February 18, 1943 in Waco, Texas to Joseph Carroll Wood Sr. and Doris Watters Wood as the third of six children. She attended The Principia School in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from Waco High School in 1961. After graduation, Judy studied fashion design in Chicago. She worked at Neiman Marcus in Dallas and for her father's apparel manufacturing business - Wood Manufacturing - in Waco. An adventurer at heart, Judy spent many years living in both Mexico and Alaska. Her prolific storytelling of these adventures provided endless entertainment for the younger generations of her family and she will be greatly missed.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Joy Wood and Jean Wood; brother, Joe Wood; niece, Michelle Hodge, nephew, Scott Hayner, niece-in-law, Denise Auclair, and longtime partner, Bob Maddin.
Survivors include her sisters, Jane Wood and Jeri Wood and her husband Jacques Cloutier; nephews, Clark Collins, Chris Auclair, Mike Wood and his wife Aimee, and Bill Hayner and his wife Windy; nieces, Cissy Aberg and Andrea Castro and her husband Enrique; and family friend and caretaker, Mary Olivarez. Judy is also survived by her great-nephews and great-nieces: Aldo Otero, Grace Collins, Eric Aberg, Charley Aberg, Caroline Auclair, Lyndon Auclair, Natalie Hayner, Jack Holloway, Kate Hodge, Peyton Hodge, Mason Hodge, Michael Wood, and Henry Wood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Central Texas, Fuzzy Friends Rescue, or the charity of your choice.
