Joyce Eloise (Hipp) Morgan, age 89, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away March 29, 2025. Joyce's wish to be at home in her final moments was honored, thanks to the loving care of Emma Speer, her beloved friend and caregiver, and the family holds her kindness close to their hearts, always.
Joyce was born, August 24, 1935 in Crystal City, Zavala County, Texas. She attended elementary and high school in Crystal City and then attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos, Texas. She received a degree Education and here she met her husband, Joe R. Morgan. They married on July 27, 1957. After Joe graduated, they moved to Wichita Falls, TX. Later they moved to Ft. Worth and then to Waco. In 1969, they moved to Valley Mills to the farm of 19 acres where she was currently residing.
Joyce might be most remembered as a kindergarten teacher for the Valley Mills and Crawford Schools. She had many hobbies, but of all, she loved to read. Other hobbies were sewing, embroidery, quilting, ceramics, coloring, camping with Joe, playing games on her computer, working puzzle books, and shopping at Walmart. Some may say she liked to "talk"! She taught her kids about wildflowers, constellations, and how to set a nice table; she was a very good cook. She was proud to have been recently inducted into the Bosque River Valley Chapter of the NSDAR.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe R. Morgan, parents, Jesse Perry Hipp and Eva Adams Hipp, a brother, Ralph G. Hipp, and a half brother Jesse Perry Hipp Jr., in-laws, Clyde R. Morgan and Vita Mae (Morgan) Hoover.
Survivors include daughter, Melissa Ramey (Randall), son, Ray Morgan (Sherrie) and Meredith Tull (Steve). Six grandchildren, Perry Ramey (Beth), Morgan Addington (Chase), Madeline Reeder (Adam), Lilly Morgan, Eva Morgan and Lauren O'Neil (Robin). Five great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Miller and a brother-in-law, Alex Hoover.
A visitation and reception will be held 3 - 5 P.M. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Valley Mills Church of Christ Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers a donation in her memory to the Valley Mills Fire Department, Valley Mills Library, or the the Church of Christ Mission Fund.
