Jose Serna, age 74, of Meridian, Texas, passed away on March 31, 2017, in a Meridian nursing home. A private graveside service will be held in Corpus Christi at a later date.
Jose was born on April 22, 1942, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Santos B. and Maria Ignacio (Rodrigues) Serna. He was one of fourteen siblings. He was a mechanic by trade and had worked several years as a mechanic for ButterKrust Bread before moving to California.
Survivors include sisters: Sylvia Villarreal, Juanna Ayala, Lidia Elizondo; brothers: Miguel and Louis Serna; a daughter: Rebecca Staton and a son: Robert Serna.
