Jose  Joseph Esparza

Jose Joseph Esparza, age 37, of Gatesville, Texas, passed away January 17, 2025, at Baylor- Scott & White hospital in Temple Texas, surrounded by family.

Joseph Esparza's journey began on April 5, 1987 in Lubbock, Texas.  His mother, Consuelo Esparza and father, Antonio Marez, had the privilege of raising Joseph together in Cranfills Gap, Texas.  Joseph graduated from Marlin High school in 2005 and soon after moved to Gatesville, Texas.

Joseph enjoyed listening to music, dancing & traveling to Mexico to visit family & friends.  He loved hanging out at family barbecues & spending time with his friends.  He especially loved eating at El Rodeo Mexican restaurant in Gatesville with his mother. Joseph was a man of few words but was a man that truly loved his family.

Joseph is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Jose & Juanita Alvarado, Uncle Joe Alvarado, Uncle Ralph Saenz, Aunt Lorene Saenz, Uncle Manuel Zaragoza, Uncle Anselmo Marez & cousin Joey Saenz.

Joseph is survived by his mother, Consuelo Esparza, father, Antonio Marez, brother, Lorenzo Marez, sister, Juanita Jones and husband Jacoby Jones, nephews, Antonio, Manuel, Ivan & Mateo Marez, Jacoby Jr. Kamaree, nieces Tyre' Anna & Ty'Tiona Kamaree.  Uncles, aunts and many cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church.  Interment will be at the Valley Mills Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers: Lorenzo Marez, Michael Alvarado, Nicholas Zaragoza, Antonio Marez, Manuel Marez & Ivan Marez.
