Johnny Burns

Johnny Lemuel Burns, 75, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away on January 27, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Johnny was born on November 11,1947 to Willie and Laura (Gunter) Burns in Valley Mills,Texas.

After graduating from Valley Mills High School in 1966, he went on to study Mechanics at Hill College. Johnny worked at Bird Kultgen Ford as a mechanic. After working as a mechanic, he went on to create his own business, Burns Enterprises. He sold car/truck parts and spent his time rebuilding cars/trucks and Cushman Scooters. Johnny was a gifted welder, mechanic and enjoyed creating metal works of art with his hands. He had a love for Ford trucks, Ruger guns, his family, friends and the outdoors. He was a deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years.

Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Willie Burns, his mother, Laura (Gunter) Burns, his brothers Billy Burns, Jack Burns and Ray Burns.

He is survived by his sister Merle Goodwin of Brownwood, adopted daughter Leslie M. Evans of Waco and adopted son Larsen Burns (Rebecca) of Waco and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Johnny Lemuel Burns will be held by his family on February 18, 2023, at 11 A.M. at Searsville Country Church with Pastor John Kennedy officiating. We invite all those who knew and loved Johnny to join together with us to celebrate his wonderful life here on earth.
