John Burt, age 72, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away on November 18, 2018, at  Clifton Nursing & Rehab Center.  A Celebration of Life service will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, November 24th at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church under the direction of Foss Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Visitation will be 4 - 6 P.M. Friday at Foss Funeral Home.

John was born on August 28, 1946, in Waco, Texas,  to John Alton and Mary Elizabeth (Bishop) Burt.  He attended China Spring High School.  He learn to bareback ride at an early age and loved to rodeo.  He was a long time cattle hauler/ truck driver. He loved motorcycles and collecting trains.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a son John Wesley Burt, step-mother Ruby Faye Burt, and grandparents C.W. & Rachael Goodman Burt.

Survivors include his twin brother Joe Clayton Burt and wife Darlene; children Laurie Sue (Burt) Metcalf, James Keith Burt and wife Brandy, Jonathan Burt, Jolene (Burt) Keyes and husband Denver, and Jesse Burt; grandchildren Jordan Metcalf, Kaylee Burt, Baylee Burt, Dallee Burt, Levi Cook, Russ Keyes, Myles Keyes: 2 nephews Sammy and Jay Burt and a niece Londie Burt Byrd.
