Joel Weber May 29, 1936~ Sept. 2, 2012 Joel Weber, age 76, of Valley Mills, passed away Sunday in a Temple hospital. Graveside services will be 10 A.M. Wednesday at the Crawford Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to either the Valley Mills Fire Department or Cayote United Methodist Church. Joel was born on May 29, 1936, in Crawford, Texas, to Albert and Lillian (Westerfield) Weber. He attended Crawford School, but he said that was only because they made him go. He married Norma Jean Christian on Nov. 24, 1956, in Crawford. She preceded him in death in 2004. Joel worked at cattle auction barns in Clifton, Meridian, Waco, West, and Eastland before retiring to full time job of ranching. Joel loved playing dominoes and visiting with friends. He always had plenty of advice. Survivors include a very special friend, Margie Higginbotham of Valley Mills; children: Dave Weber and wife Amanda of China Spring; Nancy Weber Summers and husband Kirk of Crawford, brothers: Glenn Weber, Clark Weber, Dale Weber and wife Rheadene all of Crawford; and a granddaughter: Payton Weber.
