Jerry Weldon Lynch went to be with the Lord on February 26th 2022, in Graham, Texas. He passed away at 77 years old, surrounded by his children.
He was born on March 17, 1944, in Waco, Texas, to Ona Louise Abel and Arthur Junior Lynch. He grew up in the Waco area, attending both Waco High School and Connally High School.
He loved the outdoors, His passion for nature was reflected in his hobbies of boating, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed raising Boer goats and riding horses. He competed in the roping events at the National Senior Pro Rodeos and the Texas Senior Pro Rodeos.
In 1970, Jerry moved to Austin, In 1973, he moved to Buda, where he was an active member of the community. He was Chief of the Buda Volunteer Fire Department and helped with the local 4H and FFA chapters.
Throughout his career, he worked as a truck driver for A.J. Lynch & Son and spent 13 years working for Mobil. His hard work ethic later allowed him to become self-employed through his businesses: Lynch Service Station Maintenance and Lynch Dozer Work.
Upon retiring, he returned to the Waco area. He was deeply involved in several evangelical and prayer ministries and was also a licensed pastor. He was able to enjoy mission trips to Israel and Mexico. He had strong faith in the Lord and his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace. He was preceded in death by his father A.J. Lynch, and his brother-in-law, Ed Shilling.
He is survived by his daughter Jerre Danley and her family, Todd, Allison, and Hayley; son Jason Lynch and his family, Maude and Atticus; mother Louise Anderson: sister Linda Shilling and brother-in-law Benny; sister Glenda Shilling; brother Allen Lynch; stepmother Peggy Lynch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held 5 - 7 P.M. Thursday, March 3rd, at Foss Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church celebrating his life under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A private graveside service will be held later.
