Jennie Majors Gilliam February 20, 1910 ~ June 20, 2013 Jennie Majors Gilliam, age 103, of Clifton, Texas, passed away at her home on June 20, 2013. Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Monday, June 24, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church in Clifton, Texas. Interment will be in the Clifton Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1:30 P.M. to 3 P.M. Sunday, June 23rd at the First Presbyterian Church in Clifton, Tx. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 211 South Ave. G, Clifton, Texas 76634. Jennie Majors Gilliam was born February 20, 1910, in Morgan, Texas, to A. D. and Maude Majors. Jennie grew up in Morgan, finishing high school in 1926. She graduated from Baylor University in 1930. While there, she met and married Phil Gilliam of Clifton, Texas, and they made their home in Clifton. They raised a son, John Phil, and two daughters, Margie Ruth and Billie Jenell. Jenell lived only three years. Jennie had a passion for children and taught for many years. She was a 5th and 6th grade teacher at Clifton Elementary and continued to teach Sunday School for Pre-k children at the First Presbyterian Church, Clifton. She loved her students! Jennie was known by all for her love of flowers and trees. She often said "Love God and each other"; and she did. Always loving, always caring, our Mother, our Grandmother, our G.G. Survivors include her children: Margie and Pete Gutierrez, Allison and John Gilliam; grandchildren: Laura Bennett, Jenelle Bennett, Phil Gilliam, Jennifer Boles; Great Grandchildren: Abigail Gilliam, Will Boles and Marlee Boles.
