LaNora Jean Williams, of Leander, TX, passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 23, 2024, at the age of 90. Jean was born on June 23, 1934, to Jacksie Mae Tankersley and Walter Ransom Elrod in Valley Mills, TX.
She graduated from Valley Mills High School in 1952 and attended Baylor University the following year. Jean married Norman Ross "Biff" Barnes in 1952. In 1954, she graduated from 4-C Business College and began working for Phillips Petroleum Company where she worked for 15 years and later worked for Radian Corporation until retirement.
Jean and Biff also owned and operated Barnes One Stop, a convenience store, in Cedar Park, TX for 27 years. Jean and Biff were married for 56 years when he preceded her in death in 2012.
On March 04, 2017, Jean married Jimmie Maurice Williams who was also widowed. They were High School sweethearts who reconnected with each other at their high school reunion. They were married in 2017 and were embraced with love from both sides of the family. On June 27, 2024, Jim passed away at their Leander home.
Jean was an active member of New Hope First Baptist Church in Cedar Park. Volunteering in the community was important to her. She volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, nursing homes, and delivered lunches for Meals on Wheels for 15 years.
She loved her family and was happiest when they were around. Friends were important to Jean, and she had many friends, and she cherished and valued each one of them. She was a true example of strength, wisdom, and faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacksie Tankersley and Walter Elrod, husbands Norman Barnes and Jimmie Williams, daughter Kim Greer, and grandson Keaton Kunetka.
She is survived by her two daughters Kay Langenfeld and husband David; Kirsti McLemore and Husband Mike; three grandchildren, Kristopher Kunetka, Clayton Langenfeld and Charli McLemore; brother Sam Elrod and wife Sherry.
