Janice Golden

Janice Golden age 85, of Valley Mills passed away on June 22,2016. Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday June 25 at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills. Internment will be at the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills. Memorials may be made to the Valley Mills First Baptist Church.

Janice was born on Sept. 3, 1930 in Delta county Texas to Hollis and Nettie (Cummings) Hooten. In 1941 the family moved to Borger Texas where she graduated from high school in 1946. On Dec. 24, 1946 she married Thomas Golden, they moved to Valley Mills in 1955 and raised their four children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Butch Hooten in 2003, her loving husband Thomas (Tommy) Golden in 2007, and son Jerry Golden in 2011.

She is survived by her three daughters Barbara and Jim McCarty of Dripping Springs, Texas, Debra and husband Weldon Bartels and Brenda and husband Bryant Schuetz all of Valley Mills: daughter-in-law:  Toni Golden Edgington and husband Don; 10 grandchildren Terry McCarty, Lee Ellen McCarty Mayer, Donna Golden Parker, Tammy Golden Edgemon, Brandon, Baron and Brett Bartels, Brady, Bryce and Barrett Schuetz and 15 great-grandchildren; sister in law Deloris Hooten; other relatives:  Francis Golden, Felix and Betty Golden.
