James E. Shepperd Aug. 3, 1933 ~ Jan. 23, 2013 James Edward Shepperd, age 79, of Waco passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Saturday at the Crawford Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Mr. Shepperd was born on August 3, 1933, in Thornton, Texas. He was the son of Thad and Ollie Lee (Buttrill) Shepperd. He attended Waco Technical High. He married Lynette Russell on July 3, 1952. Mr. Shepperd was a self employed home builder and even after retirement continued to work for Kunkel Construction. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, bass fishing, and annual trips to the Rocky Mountains. In recent years he enjoyed watching the bald eagles at Lake Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 siblings: Buttrill, Earl, Ollie Kate, Margaret, Marvin Bob, Elton, and Milton; also a granddaughter, Magan Self. Survivors include his wife: Lynette Shepperd, a son: Michael Steve Shepperd and wife Debby; 2 daughters: Brenda Self and husband Lonnie, Jamie Perry and husband Danny; a brother: Elmer Shepperd; 9 grandchildren: Shelton Shepperd, Sterling Shepperd, Skyler Shepperd, Jason Kunkel, Angela Garrett, Ashley Self, Zack Self, Rikki Moore, and Justin Perry; 4 great grandchildren: Madison Garrett, Kaidy (Bug) Kunkel, Corbyn Walton and Pipper Shepperd. (He was expecting 5 more great grandchildren this summer.) 2 special friends: Don Skains and Mike Hughes.
