Updated
A Celebration Memorial will be held on January 28, 2023, from 2:30 - 6 PM, at 784 CR 3135, Valley Mills, Tx. "The Hundred Acre Ranch".
James (Jaime) Dominique Treadwell, 45, died instantly in a car accident on FM 2602 near Mosheim, TX on October 16, 2022, when his car skidded in the rain. The world lost a beautiful soul with an enormous heart, a brilliant musician, talented artist, and loving father. Jaime was a nature lover, an animal lover, and beloved son, brother, nephew, and uncle.
Jaime was born to Melissa Lynn Moody and John Treadwell, Sr. on June 23, 1977, in Lima Peru. He moved often with his family, settling in Houston in 1987. He joined the band that would eventually become Given under the stage name Jaime Engine as the lead vocalist when he was 19. They played all over the Houston area and throughout the United States from 1996 until October 2, 2009. He relocated to Waco to be near his son Kaemon in 2014. In late 2019, Jaime moved out to his family's land near Valley Mills, TX which he christened 'The Hundred Acre Ranch' after Winnie-the-Pooh's home. There he was a great blessing and help to his mother with the care of the property, animals, and clients who came for healing.
To Jaime music was the strongest form of magic. He sang, he played acoustic guitar, composed music, and wrote lyrics to hundreds of songs. He loved all genres from The Nutcracker Suite's Pas de Deux and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata to David Bowie, Nirvana, Radiohead, The Beatles, Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison, and 80's music. His favorite film scores were from Edward Scissorhand and Pan's Labyrinth.
He was an astute student of the cinema and loved the creative process of bringing movies to life. He was a particular authority on Star Wars and immersed himself in LucasFilms, beginning in 1980 with The Empire Strikes Back. He believed strongly in the Force and gave everyone he loved at least one lightsaber.
Jaime was a comedian and a philosopher of the human condition. He protected his loved ones, fiercely. He loved beauty and saw it all around him. But most of all, he loved his son.
Jaime is grieved by his son Kaemon Moon Treadwell, mother Melissa Moody and beloved dog Poe; his brother and sister Christopher Treadwell and Jenny Seagle, his Aunt Jenny Moody and his siblings Misty Jones and Joyanne Treadwell; his Uncles Wick Dossett and John (Sandy) Moody, his Aunt Debbie Moody; his brother-in-law Jason Seagle; his nieces and nephews Zoe Ellis, Fox and Piper Finley Seagle, Ashley Weidner, Lindsey Embry and Shaelee Bak; Gabrielle, Wesley, Audrey and Skyler Jones; Joseph and James Treadwell; his first cousins Andrew, Michael and Dan Moody and their families; his cousins the Fisks and Hales of Valley Mills; and many family and friends near and far. On October 16, 2022, Jaime joined his sister Nina Embry Moglia who died three years ago.
